What's new in this release

  • Open other users' folders: Open or view the folders of other users and resources while connected to the network. Access to other users' folders depends on user permission levels.
  • Support for Delegate Access: Grant delegate access to other users. Delegates can view, edit or create Calendar, Inbox, Journal, Notes or Tasks items.
  • Synchronization filters:  Control the maximum amount of information available for off-line use.
  • SMTP authentication - PLAIN, CRAM-MD5: CTOC 3.0 now implements the PLAIN and CRAM-MD5 SASL mechanisms for SMTP authentication. The LOGIN mechanism was introduced in CTOC 2.0. These authentication mechanisms must be supported by the SMTP server.
  • IMAP4 authentication - PLAIN: CTOC 3.0 now implements the PLAIN mechanism for IMAP4 authentication. The CRAM-MD5 mechanism was introduced in CTOC 2.0. These authentication mechanisms must be supported by the IMAP4 server.
  • Calendar and IMAP4 server re-connection: Automatic e-mail or calendar server re-connection prevents users from having to close and re-open Outlook to re-establish a server connection.
  • Support for Outlook Bar Folder short cuts: Quickly and easily create folder shortcuts to access frequently used folders.
  • Improved response to conflicts and Can't Book Me errors: View the source of scheduling conflicts without using the Attendee Availability Form for Free/Busy lookup.
  • IMAP4 alert displays: View IMAP4 server alert messages.
  • New menu commands: Tools | IMAP4 Folders: Subscribe to and unsubscribe from IMAP4 folders.  Check/Uncheck Subfolders: Select folders available for off-line use.  Refresh This Folder: Quickly refresh the contents of folders. Properties | Administration | Reset : Perform a fresh download of e-mail messages and folders from the server.
  • Adding users and resources to off-line lists: Select the user or resource information to download for off-line.
  • Using CTOC without a calendar account: Manage Calendar, Contacts, Journals and Notes (in off-line mode) without having a calendar account or server access.
  • Indicator for unavailable servers:  Icon display on the status bar if one or more servers if the server (s) are unavailable.
  • Support for displaying e-mail Internet headers: Display of Internet headers for e-mail messages.
  • Optimization and performance enhancements: Faster login, synchronization, copying, deleting, moving and folder navigation. More detailed synchronization log messages. Improved server re-connection performance and accuracy of partial name searches.

Features since CTOC 1.0

Limitations, caveats and known problems with this release

  • CTOC does not support the Transport Neutral Encapsulation Format (TNEF) included in e-mail messages or WINMAIL.DAT attachments sent by Microsoft e-mail clients. To workaround this problem, delete the WINMAIL.DAT file.
  • Forwarding of non-e-mail items, using right-click menu options, is not supported. To workaround this problem, forward Contacts or Appointments as a vCard or iCalendar attachments respectively i.e (Contact | Actions | Forward as VCard or Forward as iCalendar). (#00517)
  • The location field appears blank when a meeting that was created on-line is opened. To resolve this problem, right-click the Outlook desktop icon, click Properties, and then select Properties. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Third-Party Software. Select the Pocket Mirror check box, and then click OK. (#13843)
  • IMAP4 folder names that include '%', '*' or '/' are not supported. (#13774)
  • Calendars are not properly updated when a recurring meeting has been cancelled, or if a user has been removed from the attendee list. (#13804)
  • If a folder was deleted using an older IMAP4 client, the folder will not be unsubscribed from view. Attempting to open the item in Outlook will result in an object not found message. (#13856)
  • Using CorporateTime to modify a recurring meeting created in Outlook will result in recurring meeting rule errors. (#13574)
  • User names and e-mail addresses must be specified when using the Outlook Rules Wizard, so that rules are applied to both calendar and mail items. Names and e-mail addresses must be seperated with semi-colons. (#13790)
  • Folder names are case insensitive. (#13194)
  • Non-CorporateTime users may receive e-mail meeting notifications although meeting or resource conflicts may exist. This may occurr if you enable automatic iCal messaging, and schedule meetings while working off-line. (#13163)
  • A copy of an e-mail message will remain in its original location if the message is moved immediately after using the reply feature. To resolve this problem, close the e-mail message before moving the message. (#12281)
  • CTOC does not support the creation of recurring meetings on the 29th or 30th day of the month. (#12195)
  • Recurring Day Events cannot be changed to single Day Events if the change causes resource or scheduling conflict. To resolve this problem, delete the recurring Day Event before creating the single Day Event. (#12198)
  • Single Day Events cannot be changed to recurring Day Events if the change causes resource or scheduling conflict. To resolve this problem, delete the single Day Event before creating a recurring Day Event. (#12395)
  • Public folders are not available for off-line use. To work off-line with the contents of a public folder, you must copy the contents of a public folder to a private folder, and then enable the private folder for off-line use. (#13195)
  • Birthdays or Anniversaries cannot be added to a Contact while working off-line. To resolve this problem, add the Birthday or Anniversary to your Contact while working on-line. (#13049)
  • CorporateTime Outlook Connector does not recognize Macintosh attachments containing a resource fork. (#12152)
  • Custom folder views using the Group By option are not supported, and will be displayed empty. (#12977)
  • To avoid POP and IMAP4 protocol conflicts, do not set up Microsoft's Internet Mail or Exchange service provider and CorporateTime Outlook Connector in the same profile, if they are configured to connect to the same e-mail server.
  • Signed e-mail, Digital IDs or Certificates are not supported. (#13769)

Resolved limitations since last release

  • Outlook will crash on shutdown if an advanced search has been performed during the session. (#13755)
  • E-mail is not sorted when importance level and date filters are applied. (#13777)
  • CTOC occasionally crashes when it attempts to automatically re-establish a lost CorporateTime Server connection. (#13764)
  • Calendars are not properly updated when a meeting has been cancelled, or if a user has been removed from the attendee list. (#13756)
  • Duplicate meetings may be created with the attendee appearing as the meeting owner, if the attendee replies to a meeting request. (#12357)
  • CTOC will crash if a read receipt is requested when a subject is not specified. (#13592)
  • Meeting request updates will remain in the Outbox if a meeting owner removes names from the attendee list. (#13741)

  • The off-line settings dialog box does not reflects the correct status when enabled for off-line use.
