Installing CorporateTime Outlook Connector
Preparation
- Ensure that Microsoft Outlook 98 or 2000 is installed with Windows 95, 98, 2000 or NT 4.0 on your machine. For NT and 2000 platforms, you must have Administrator rights for your machine.
- Outlook must have been installed in Corporate/Workgroup mode. Verify Outlook's configuration on the Mail Services tab of the Options dialog box.
- CorporateTime Server 5.0 must be installed and running. It is strongly recommended that CTOC 2.0 be configured to run on CorporateTime Server 5.1 to enable offline folder support and additional new features.
- An IMAP4 e-mail server must be installed and running.
- Verify server passwords and accessibility by connecting a CorporateTime client to the CorporateTime Server and a mail application to the IMAP4 server.
Installation
- It is recommended that you exit all Windows applications before installing CorporateTime Outlook Connector.
- Double-click the Setupex.exe file. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
Please note: To avoid conflict between POP3 and IMAP4 protocols, Microsoft's Internet Mail service provider should not be set up in the same profile as CorporateTime Outlook Connector if both are configured to connect to the same e-mail server. Depending on the size of your calendar and e-mail data, it may take several minutes to install CorporateTime Outlook Connector.
Silent install
- Edit the parameter values in ctoc.ini. All of them are optional, and may be left blank. On first startup, CTOC will prompt the user to provide values left blank in ctoc.ini. Refer to this template file for more detailed information.
- Run
setupex -s -cfg<drive>:<location of ctoc.ini>
- For example:
setupex -s -cfg C:/Winnt/ctoc.iniWhen installation is complete, a log file (ocsetup.log) will be created in the install target directory reading, "Installation successful."
Uninstallation
- From the Start menu, select Settings, Control Panel.
- Select Add/Remove Programs.
- From the list box, choose CorporateTime Outlook Connector. Click Add/Remove...
