Limitations, caveats, and known problems with this release
Server (unison.ini)
- Setting the
FALSEhas no effect on the Notification tab of the Create or Edit Entry pages. (#001195)Solaris
Due to a change in compilers, CorporateTime for the Web running on Solaris 2.6 or 2.7 requires the C runtime library libCrun.so.1. Before installation, you must apply the following patches to the machine on which CorporateTime for the Web is running:
Download these patches from Steltor's web site at ftp://CTimeTools:9483114@ftp.cst.ca/cttools/OS_Patch/
You must apply the same patches to the machine on which CorporateTime Server is running.
General
- If you have stopped and restarted CorporateTime Server, you must restart the Apache Server. (#001996)
- E-mailed agendas do not always display correctly in the sender's time zone.
- Users may experience display problems and erratic behaviour if they are using any 4x version of Netscape for Macintosh.
- Netscape 6.2 for Macintosh: Trying to change your password will generate a fatal error and quit the application. (#004094)
- Suggested workaround: Choose Preferences | Privacy & Security | Web Passwords and check the "Remember password for sites that require me to log in" option.
- Line breaks are not shown in Meeting details. (#003375)
- When you generate a Repeating Entry with a first instance date that does not match the default date on the General page, the default date will not be updated to reflect the Repeating date. (#002024)
- Designate Rights: You must give a user rights to modify at least one class of Entry. Otherwise, the user will not be able to work as a Designate in your Agenda. (#002188)
- If the value for your
init-start-delayis too small, you may experience errors when the listen queue is full.- The time zone reference table provided with this software has not been translated.
FastCGI
- The
apachectl restartcommand does not always dispatch signals correctly.- CorporateTime for the Web will occasionally generate orphan processes that are not terminated automatically.
- Suggested Workaround: Grep for processes with a parent PID of 1; then TERM and KILL those processes.
- CorporateTime for the Web will occasionally fail to connect to the socket file and generate entries in the error_log.
Resolved limitations since last release
CorporateTime for the Web
- Global Agenda: If you have the aut_web plug-in enabled on a node and a user views a Global Agenda, all subsequent requests to view a non-Global Agenda will fail on that node until you restart the Web server.
- Internal e-mail notification: The maximum number of characters permitted is 128. If any CorporateTime for the Web user's e-mail address falls outside the 128-character maximum, that user will not receive e-mail notification of the Entry. (#005063)
- Fix: The maximum number of characters permitted is now limited only by your system configuration and physical resources (RAM, etc.).
- External e-mail notification: The maximum number of characters permitted is 128. If any user's e-mail address falls outside the 128-character maximum, that user will not receive e-mail notification of the Entry.
- If the parameter
userlist_loginis set toTRUEin webcal.ini, you have performed a search with multiple matches and your user name is not found, you cannot edit the field to perform another search until you enter an invalid password. (#001918)- You cannot perform e-mail searches if your system is using an external directory server. Additionally, you cannot perform an e-mail search if the e-mail address is mapped to multiple fields on the internal server.
- Dynamic HTML may cause display errors if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.5 or earlier on a Macintosh. (#001997)
- Setting the
FALSEin webcal.ini has no effect on the display of iCalendar and vCalendar options in the Create or Edit Entry pages. (#001986)- Although there is no limit on the length of details a user can enter for a Meeting, CorporateTime for the Web truncates details to a maximum length of 32K. (#001917)
- Internet Explorer 5.0.1: The automatic sign-in preference is not saved until you restart the browser. (#001985)
- Non default-colors set in webcal.ini are not displayed consistently on the Printer-friendly format page. (#001964)
- HP using Internet Explorer: When serverlist_login is set to TRUE, the server displayed on the Sign-in page is always the first one on the list, not the last one you used to sign in. (#001960)
- AIX and HP: You must stop Apache Server in order to install CorporateTime for the Web. (#001956)
- Resources are not displayed in the Group View table if they contain special characters. (#001943)
- In the New Group and Edit Group pages, users and Resources cannot be removed from a group while the Group radio button is selected. Simply select either the Users or Resources radio buttons. (#003353)
- Suggested workaround: open the on-line help from the Toolbar.
- For this Beta 2 release, the ability to open individual users' Agendas from the Group View has been temporarily disabled. This functionality will return in the final product release.
- If you are viewing the Agenda of another user through the Group View and attempt to access the Group View page again, you will receive an error. (#002189)
- Do not use aliases to point to the lexacal.fcgi executable. Instead, create a forwarding .HTML page and point your alias to that file. (#004023)
- Attempting to run CorporateTime for the Web on Solaris 5.8 generates segment errors. (#004129)
- Suggested workaround: Download and apply the patch for Solaris 5.8. CorporateTime for the Web will run normally.
- Netscape 4.75 for Macintosh: Setting the Repeat pull-down menu to anything but "Don't Repeat" causes the frequency control to appear over the People & Resources tab. (#004174)
- When printing your Agenda in the Week View or Month View formats, the print-outs may be cut off if you are using a portrait setup. This may happen if you have a heavily populated Agenda or if you have chosen to display Saturdays and Sundays. (#004164)
- No time picker appears next to the time fields in the Block SMS Messages section of the wireless preferences page. (#003455)
- In the [image_button] section of the webcal.ini file, two parameters are omitted from the commented list: go and done. See the Administrator's Guide for details on configuring the display characteristics of CorporateTime for the Web. (#003341)
- In Group management pages, when a user is added to the group list, the Find list box is cleared. To add another user, simply execute another Find operation. (#003327)
- On Motif browsers: if you open the Suggest Date and Time page or the Group View from the People and Resources tab of the New Meeting or Edit Meeting pages, opening and closing the on-line help may cause the browser to quit. (#003238)
- Solaris only: From the Suggest Date and Time, Manage Groups, New Group and Edit Group pages, the links to the on-line help do not reach the correct help topic. Simply scroll to the table of contents at the top of the page, and follow the link to the desired topic. (#003087)
- Solaris only: In the Task View, any Tasks with URLs as titles cannot be edited; clicking the name of the task will open the specified URL instead. (#003072)
- You may experience problems when registering a new user while a node is down. (#001992)
- You cannot use the middle name to search for a user or event calendar with a three-part name (e.g. The Jenkins Arena). (#001991)
- Suggested Workaround: Perform a name search using the first or last name of the user or event calendar, or omit the middle name from your search.
- Solaris only: In a number of places in the application, the width of user names may affect the display of list boxes. (#001988)
- In order to find a user with a last name but no first name, you must type the name preceded by "*" and white space. (#001990)
- When a machine on the node network is down, CorporateTime for the Web will try to connect for a long period of time instead of timing out. (#001987)
- Suggested Workaround: If one of your server machines is down, take it off the network. If the server on the machine is down but the machine is still running, CorporateTime for the Web is not affected.
- Reminders are now saved correctly for new Daily Notes. (#00128)
- One-character searches now function correctly. (#00110)
- The month of October now displays correctly for time zones that do not have Daylight Savings (#00052).
- E-mailed agendas now always display correctly in the sender's time zone.
- This release also fixes a number of security issues, including:
CorporateTime for the Web Mobile Edition
- On certain phones, you may not be able to sign in to the application unless there is an invalid sign-in attempt made first. (#001900)
- Suggested workaround: Attempt to sign in with an invalid user ID or password. Then sign in normally.
- If the calendar server changes and a user with automatic sign-in enabled tries to sign in, the attempt will fail. (#002058)
- Automatic sign-in will fail if you turn off your phone any time before returning to the sign-in page. (#002043)
- Do not use foreign ASCII characters as part of your password. (#002030)
