must also be in your path.
New features
CorporateTime 5.0.2 for Motif is a maintenance
release that provides all the features and functionality of the previous
4.0.3 release under the Oracle banner. This version will also provide the
basis for all future upgrades.
The following features were new in version 4.0:
Security
Functionality
User interface
Reminders
and notification
Security
Authentication-Compression-Encryption (ACE) framework increases the level
of security of CorporateTime. Choose what type of authentication, compression
and encryption mechanisms to use, and a system that can react if the preferred
mechanisms are not available.
CorporateTime now offers the ability to configure a polite or secure level
of login authentication. The polite level of authentication will show an
error message if the information entered in the login box is incorrect.
It will indicated which field contains the error, allowing the user to
correct the information. The secure level does not indicate which fields
contain the incorrect information, thus providing a more secure environment.
The administrator controls this behavior using a parameter on the server.
Functionality
-
Powerful text searching capability extends the way users can access data
in their Agendas. You can specify whether to search for a string or an
attendee, in an Agenda, in an event field, or over a time range. Perform
single string searches, sub-string searches and case-insensitive searches.
-
Hold or discard your messages with the new wireless settings. You can receive
notification of changes to your Entries and have your messages delivered
during the time slot of your choice.
-
Include details with your Daily Notes and Day Events.
-
Users can toggle between different sets of sign-in preferences. The system
stores each set of preferences and the Connection Manager switches between
them.
-
Use a unique user ID to sign in to the application.
-
Import or export calendar data in vCalendar, iCalendar and vCard formats.
-
Enhanced drag-and-drop capabilities in the Agenda View.
-
Off-line files are now compatible across UNIX platforms.
User interface
-
Improve your user experience with a redesigned toolbar and UI.
-
The updated default color schemes give CorporateTime a new look and feel.
Reminders
and notification
-
Open up to the rest of the Internet by communicating with non-CorporateTime
users. External e-mail notification allows you to add any e-mail address
to the distribution list. Send a vCalendar or iCalendar attachment or a
textual description in the body of the e-mail message.
-
Choose from different reminder types, including e-mail, pop-up and SMS.
-
When you modify or delete instances of a repeating Meeting, only affected
instances will be listed in the mail message.
-
When you modify or delete instances of a repeating Meeting, by default
only invitees for the affected instances will be notified by e-mail.
Limitations,
caveats, and known problems in this release
-
If you export an iCal file containing a Holiday, delete the Holiday from
your Agenda and then re-import the file using a date range, the Holiday
will not appear in your Agenda. Suggested workaround: In the Period area
of the Import iCalendar file dialog, select "All" instead of "Range".
(#5302)
-
Selecting "Download Only" from the Reconcile, Cancel, Download Only dialog
box will erase any changes you have made in your off-line Agenda. You will
not be warned that any changes that you make will be lost. (#3765)
-
You can exceed the maximum mail distribution number by adding a resource
with many designates. Suggested workaround: Avoid adding resources to mail
distribution lists if they have many designates. (#3764)
-
Clicking "Apply to All" in the General tab of a repeating entry may reset
your Reminder and Reply options for all instances of the entry. (#3763)
-
You may encounter problems using Exceed 7.0 with CorporateTime for Motif
5.0. (#2463)
-
Storing off-line files on a remote machine (i.e. not the machine on which
you are running the application) may cause slow-downs when you perform
certain functions such as working off-line or working with an Address Book.
Suggested workaround: Store your off-line files on a local disk. (#1608)
-
You should not run concurrent copies of CorporateTime from one Unix account.
Resolved limitations since 5.0
-
If you are using CorporateTime 5.0 for Motif on a
Solaris 2.8 machine that has Patch 108652-51 installed, CorporateTime will
crash when you attempt to sign in on-line or off-line. (#264)
-
If you hover your mouse over a Meeting to show its
details in a ToolTip and then press Ctrl + W, the ToolTip will not close.
(#5397)
-
If you are using CorporateTime 5.0 for Motif on a
Solaris 8 machine, the names of the e-mail recipients in the Mail Message
dialog will be cut short.
Resolved limitations since 4.0.x
-
When you attach a large file, an error may appear stating that you connection
to the server has been lost. If you select OK, you will get a module error.
(#5293, 2459)
-
If you have off-line Entries that have not been uploaded to your on-line
Agenda and you are downloading your Agenda while working as a designate,
you will receive a module error. (#5077)
-
You should not force global foreground or background colors for CorporateTime,
as this might cause problems in running the application. (#4457)
-
Do not open a Group View containing users that are on an unavailable server.
(#4353)
-
If you have created a repeating Meeting and you choose to delete your list
of dates, all information about the Meeting, except for title and details,
will be lost. (#3766, 8415)
-
If you have administrative rights and you create an Administrative Group,
you will not be able to view or edit the Group after you create it. You
can still include this group on a list of participants, and other users
with administrative rights can view and edit the Group. (#3761)
-
When signing in to CorporateTime, first or last names that contain a space
must be entered using "^" to replace the space. (#3144)
-
If you have snoozed a Reminder for a Meeting, you may have trouble with
Pop-up Reminders for new Meetings. (#2546)
-
If you are in a time zone east of Greenwich Mean Time, you should not choose
the "Export all" option when exporting a vCalendar file. Rather, select
the "Export by range" option. (#2515)
-
You will not be able to export Designates, as this may cause you to receive
a module error and the application may quit. (#2531)
-
If you reschedule a Meeting to which a Resource has been invited to a new
date that is conflicting for the Resource, you will get a message stating
that the Meeting cannot be moved. If you delete the Resource and press
OK, you will get a series of module errors and CorporateTime will quit.
(#1828)
-
You should not put a space in the command line that starts the mail option.
If you do, you will receive an error message stating "The specified mail
option was not found." (#1610)
-
When attempting to import a vCalendar file for which the "From" and "To"
dates are the same, you will get a message reading "There are no valid
entries to import" and you will be unable to import the file. (#1592)
-
If you are sharing your CorporateTime account with another user, you must
manually create a directory for your off-line files before browsing. (#1015)
-
When you check for conflicts in the Event Editor, the names of the People
and Resources will disappear. The Event you are checking is unselected,
so the names will not appear. However, the names have not been removed
and will re-appear when you click on the Event. (#917)
-
Some characters will be printed on top of other when you print the Agenda
of a user or resource whose name contains accents. (#897)
-
When you are exporting a tab- or comma-delimited file for Address Books,
you cannot use the down button to scroll through the Export fields list
box. (#620)
-
A Designate cannot export another person's Agenda. The Designate's name
will appear in the People/Resources list box instead of as the owner of
the Agenda. (#618)
-
You cannot sign in using a name that contains accents. (#605)
