System Requirements

Macintosh PowerPC or 68K
System 7.1.2 or later
Application RAM: Minimum 10 MB, Preferred 14 MB
7MB hard disk space
System Administrators should consult the Server Parameters document for more information on setting up the Web Access feature.
Users will need to connect to an AppleTalk network (Apple menu > Controls Panels > AppleTalk; or Apple menu > Chooser > Apple Talk on older versions of System) in order to enable Web Access. If you are not able to connect to the network via AppleTalk, please consult your System Administrator.
As of release time, CorporateTime 4.2 for Macintosh operated on Mac OS 9 RTM 2.

What is included in this release

If you are running an evaluation copy of CorporateTime, the timebombis 90 days from the first use of the product.

New Features since CorporateTime 4.1

Back up Address Books on-line for fast archiving, and restore them to your machine whenever you want.
Enable notification of Entries on your wireless mobile devices, either as text or as part of your device's calendar display.
Improved password control always lets you know when your on-line and off-line passwords are different and facilitates reconciling on-line and off-line data.
Improve CorporateTime user file protection in environments where workstations are shared.
Initial user preferences can now be configured by the system administrator.

New Features since CorporateTime 4.0

Publish Address Books to share with other users. A published Address Book can be renamed, modified and deleted by its publisher.
Users can now sign in using a unique user ID.
Web Access enabled, allowing users to launch internet browser to view product information. The browser can be launched by choosing the Product Information menu item or clicking Web Link button in the Agenda.
Multi-week printing option.
Include Daily Notes and Day Events when printing Monthly Agendas.

New Features since CorporateTime 3.4

Address Books

Allow you to keep track of business, personal, and professional contacts.
Create as many Address Books as you need.
Take advantage of easy-to-use two-panel View with folders and different sorting and filtering options.
Bookmark important Entries.
Fill Address Books by importing names from files, copying Entries from one book to another or dragging vCard files. VCard objects can also be copied and pasted from the clipboard.
Export Address book contents in a wide variety of file formats.
Create up to 2,000 Address Book Entries.

Note: If you are working with large address books, it is recommendedthat you allocate CorporateTime more memory to avoid system crashes or slow-downs.Select the application icon and choose File menu > Get Info. Then increasethe memory by entering a value in the Preferred Size box.

Entry Manipulation and Contextual Help

Click a Meeting to select it. Click it again to edit its title directly without opening the edit window.
Press the Del key to delete an Entry you created.
Click on a Meeting's handles in the Day or Week View to change its duration.
Hold down Control and click anywhere in the Time Slots for contextual help and editing options.

New Display Format

Multi-document interface format replaced by a more practical format where each view has its own separate frame.
The new toolbars have borderless buttons which have been re-arranged.
More display options for the Agenda Views let you choose what information you want to see (titles, locations, details, times, icons, etc.).
Entries you have refused can be hidden.

Improved New Meeting Windows

New more user-friendly interface lets you invite people and resources on the same page.
Selecting a name can be done by typing the first name or last name only.
Group names can be entered directly.
First resource added to the list of attendees is copied to the location field automatically.
New Reply page shows all the information a user needs to make a decision.

Improved Repeating Meeting editing

Edit any instance of a Repeating Meeting, including adding and removing dates or changing an instance completely, using the same Meeting windows.
Changes can apply to one, some or all instances of a repeating Meeting.
The list of dates only appears once the Meeting is turned into a Repeating Meeting. You can easily turn a one-time Meeting into a Repeating Meeting.

Other improvements

End Time preserved when opening the New Meeting dialog box by clicking a time slot.
Significant performance improvements, especially when creating Entries and importing Address Books.
New horizontal scroll bar in the Found list of the Search dialog box lets you view more information about users and resources.
No need to enter "gr:" to select a group.
Reviewed menu command positions and names.
Simplified dialog boxes (Notification Preferences, Open Agenda, Manage Groups, Import/Export, etc.) for easier usability.
New Daily Note and Day Event editing and viewing dialog boxes.
Selecting a week in the Month View switches to that week's View.
Week numbers now displayed in the Week and Month Views.
A "Today" button appears in each Agenda View's Date Control Bar.
Single clicks now replace double clicks wherever possible (e.g. one click on top of a day column in the week view will bring you to the day view).
Improved user messages.
Multiple selection in the In-tray and Task View.
The click point determines the default start time and date for New Meetings.
Reminders now show location field.
The position of the Notes and Task View is now saved in local preference file.
Warnings are displayed when creating or modifying past Events.
Improved Reminders, including a Reminder indicator on the status bar.
Row Height settings now saved.

Limitations, caveats, and known problems withthis release

The following problems have been reported:

Refreshing Meetings: If you edit a Meeting by changing the date or list of attendees, your Agenda may not refresh properly. (#10907)

Suggested Workaround: Choose View menu > Refresh after modifying a Meeting in this manner.

Inactive buttons: If CorporateTime is left open but unused for extended periods of time in an Agenda view in the background , you may lose certain functionality (e.g. buttons on the toolbar) in the application. (#10822)

Suggested Workaround: If this occurs, close your Agenda window and re-open it to restore full function.

Minimized Reminders: If you have any Reminders set when CorporateTime is in the background and one becomes due, checking the message and returning to another application may cause other Reminders you have to function improperly. (#10415)
Reminders for declined Meetings: If you set a pop-up Reminder for a Meeting and then change your reply to "I will not attend", the Reminder will still appear in your Agenda at the specified time and date. (#9717)
vCal manipulation: CorporateTime does not report any conflicts when importing .vcs files from Netscape.If a Meeting is copied and pasted to another time where a Meeting already exists without its title being changed, the Conflict Details dialog box will not detect the conflict. Both these functions use vCal entry manipulation. (#6181/6334)

Suggested Workaround: use the Group Agenda to confirm available times for participants before scheduling these types of entries.

Viewing Task Attachments: When viewing a file attached to a Task, the window remains in the background. (#6257)

Suggested Workaround: minimize all windows in order to view the attached file.

Printing Address Book Entries: Clicking on "Next Bookmark" if a bookmarked Entry exists in a closed folder excludes that Entry from printing. (#6320)
Repeating dates: If you have created a Repeating Meeting and you choose to delete your list of dates, all information about the Meeting except for title and details (location, participants, linked tasks) is lost. (#8414)

Suggested Workaround: Create, edit or modify your list of dates before you add a location, task or list of participants.

Limitations fixed since last release

Address Book Compatibility: Address Books created using CorporateTime 4.1 or earlier may not function properly.

Suggested Workaround: If you have an Address Book you created with CorporateTime 4.1 or earlier, choose File menu > Address Book… > Backup… in CorporateTime 4.2 to back up the Address Book on the server. Then delete your local copy of the Address Book and restore it from the server. The Address Book will now function properly.

vCalendar import: Importing a vCalendar file from Windows may crash the Macintosh client. (#10559)
Printing in the Edit Meeting dialog box: Clicking the Print button while you are in the Edit Meeting dialog box may crash the application. (#10574)
Off-line Participants: When you quit CorporateTime, your off-line participants preferences are not saved if you edit the download period range after you create a list of participants. (#8213)

Suggested Workaround: Modify your download period range before you create a list of participants.

Address Book Fields: When importing an Address Book, any information in the relationship field is deleted. (#8872)
Off-line Groups: If you set preferences to download a group from the directory server, quit the application, sign in again and try to download the group, the group does not appear. (#9416)

Suggested Workaround: Set preferences for downloading off-line groups and perform your download in the same session.
