Wireless Data Server core

Please see the readme for installation instructions. Please see the release notes for supported platforms, system requirements, a list of included features and a description of known problems. smsnotify

For calendar notifications and reminders, you must download and install the smsnotify utility, available on the Steltor Web site. Please see the smsnotify readme for installation instructions.

Wireless network plug-ins

This plug-in for Wireless Data Server connects to the wireless network through the Universal Computer Protocol (UCP). Other plug-ins support connections through Data Circuit-terminating Equipment (DCE) (included with the Wireless Data Server core) and the Short Message Peer to Peer (SMPP) protocol.

SNMP subagent

Wireless Data Server can also be monitored through Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) clients. For details on installing the Wireless Data Server SNMP subagent, see its readme.

Installing the Universal Computer Protocol (UCP) plug-in

Extract the contents of the package to your Wireless Data Server's install directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\wds), referred to hereafter as <wds>.

Configuring Wireless Data Server

Open the <wds>/etc/config/wds-ucp.ini file and copy all text into <wds>/etc/config/wds.ini, where <wds> is the Wireless Data Server install directory (for Windows platforms, substitute backslashes for forward slashes in path names). Modify the following parameters according to your installation. For more information on these parameters and their correct settings, please consult the Wireless Data Server Administrator's Guide.

5039 for alphanumeric address

dcs Data coding scheme:

0 for default alphabet
1 for user-defined (8-bit) scheme

throttle_timeinterval 30

throttle_smsmsgburst 30

¹ For each connection to the SMSC, define a new section and set these parameters.
