Installing the Universal Computer Protocol (UCP) plug-in

• Extract the contents of the package to your Wireless Data Server's install directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\wds), referred to hereafter as <wds>.

Configuring Wireless Data Server

• Open <wds>/etc/config/wds-ucp.ini file and copy all text into <wds>/etc/config/wds.ini, where <wds> is the Wireless Data Server install directory. Modify the following parameters according to your installation. For more information on these parameters, please consult the Wireless Data Server Administrator's Guide, Chapter 2.

  Table 1: Wireless Data Server configuration parameters for the UCP plug-in

  [WDS]	smsccharset	ISO-8859-1
  	smscplugin	Windows NT: <wds>\bin\smscucp.dll Solaris: <wds>/bin/smscucp.so
  	smscconnections	A list of all section names of SMSC connections defined in this file, separated by commas and enclosed in {}
  [<UCP1, UCP2, etc...>]1	host	Network address of the SMSC
  	port	SMSC port number
  	localhost	Network address of the local WDS host
  	confile	Path to the UCP configuration file containing the [NAF] networks information
  	msisdn	MSISDN number of Wireless Data Server
  	msisdntoa	Type of address used by the originator: 1139 for NPI telephone and TON International 5039 for alphanumeric address
  	dcs	Data coding scheme: 0 for default alphabet 1 for user-defined (8-bit) scheme
  	throttle_timeinterval	30
  	throttle_smsmsgburst	30

  1 For each connection to the SMSC, define a new section and set these parameters.
