Please be aware that you must also download and install the Wireless Data Server core and the smsnotify utility, available on the Steltor web site.

Installing the Short Message Peer to Peer (SMPP) plug-in


Configuring Wireless Data Server

  1. Open <wds>\etc\config\wds-smpp.ini file and copy all text into <wds>\etc\config\wds.ini, where <wds> is the Wireless Data Server install directory. Modify the following parameters according to your installation. For more information on these parameters, please consult the Wireless Data Server Administrator's Guide, Chapter 2.

    1 For each connection to the SMSC, define a new section and set these parameters.

  2. Encrypt and set the password for the ESME for each SMPP connection using the cspasswd utility:
    cspasswd -f <wds>\etc\config\wds.ini -s <SMPP1> -k passwd
    cspasswd -f <wds>\etc\config\wds.ini -s <SMPP2> -k passwd
