Conventions used in this manual
Monospaced font
This typeface is used for any text that appears on the computer screen or text that you should type. It's also used for file and path names and functions.
Boldface
Boldface type is used for button names and form elements such as input areas and checkboxes.
Italic
Italic type is used for emphasis, book titles, and glossary terms.
|
The vertical bar is used as a separator for user interface elements (NT only). For example, "select Node | Properties" means that you should click the Properties item in the Node menu of the CorporateTime Server Administrator.
[ ]
Square brackets enclose commands that are optional. You may omit any text or variables that appear in square brackets.
< >
Angle brackets enclose variables. When following examples, replace the angle brackets and their text with text that applies to your situation. For example, when path names appear in angle brackets, substitute the path names used on your computer.
/
Forward slashes are used to separate directories in a path following UNIX syntax. If you use the Windows NT operating system, substitute back slashes "\" for all forward slashes "/" used in directory paths.
UNIX
Marks text that applies only to UNIX versions of the calendar server.
NT
Marks text that applies only to Windows NT versions of the calendar server.
Admin GUI
Refers to a procedure executed using the calendar server administrator, a user interface that can be used for administrative tasks on Windows NT platforms. The Admin GUI is included in the default installation package for Windows NT. Consult the Readme distributed with this product for information concerning the use of this tool for the remote administration of a UNIX installation.
Cmd line
Refers to a procedure executed on the command line (UNIX or NT) using a calendar server utility.
