Installing CorporateSync
If you have a previous version of CorporateSync installed, it is recommended that you perform a synchronization before you install CorporateSync 3.0 for Pocket PC.
- Make sure you have uninstalled any previous versions of CorporateSync on your desktop, and any version of the CSSetup utility on your mobile device.
- Make sure ActiveSync is installed on your machine.
- Run the .EXE setup program provided with the distribution package and follow the on-screen InstallShield instructions.
- Accept the license agreement and choose an installation directory.
- Choose an installation type. If you choose Custom, there is no difference between "This feature will be installed on local hard drive" and "This feature, and all subfeatures, will be installed on local hard drive". Select the conduits you want to install.
- Make sure you install Oracle CorporateSync Helper files when prompted by the application.
- Enter your user information, including user name, password, calendar server and node ID.
- Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Getting started
(Microsoft ActiveSync | Sync)To synchronize your mobile device Entries with CorporateTime Server, you must first establish an ActiveSync partnership that uses CorporateSync to communicate with the calendar server. The default partnership on your device is with Microsoft Outlook®.
To establish a partnership:
- Disconnect your device's cradle from PC.
- Select File | Delete Partnership.
- Reconnect your device's cradle to your PC. The ActiveSync Partnership Wizard starts automatically.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and select CorporateTime as your plug-in for Calendar, Tasks and Contacts.
- Note: If you have a previous version of CorporateSync, you must delete your old partnership and create a new partnership with the CorporateTime Contacts conduit active in order to synchronize Contacts.
To synchronize your mobile device for the first time:
- Place your Pocket PC in its cradle.
- Open Microsoft ActiveSync if it does not open automatically.
- Click Sync if synchronization is not automatically initiated.
Uninstalling CorporateSync
- Select Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | CorporateSync 3.0 for Pocket PC.
- Click Remove.
- To remove CorporateSync's Helper files from your mobile device, select Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | CorporateSync Helper on your mobile device.
- Click Remove.
