Installing CorporateSync
If you have a previous version of CorporateSync installed, it is recommended that you perform a synchronization before you install CorporateSync 3.0 for Palm.
- If you have a previous release version of CorporateSync (2.1.1 or less) on your desktop, make sure you have uninstalled it, as well as any version of the CSSetup utility on your mobile device. If you have a Beta version of CorporateSync 3.0 for Palm, you can install the release version over it.
- Make sure HotSync is installed on your machine.
- Run the .EXE setup program provided with the distribution package and follow the on-screen InstallShield instructions.
- Accept the license agreement and choose an installation directory.
- Choose an installation type. If you choose Custom, there is no difference between "This feature will be installed on local hard drive" and "This feature, and all subfeatures, will be installed on local hard drive". Select the conduits you want to install.
- Enter your user information, including user name, password, calendar server and node ID.
- Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Upgrading to Palm Desktop 4.1
- Unistall CorporateSync 3.0.x
- Unistall Palm Desktop 4.0.1
- Install Palm Desktop 4.1
- Install CorporateSync 3.0.3
- If you previously performed a synchronization with a USB port, the New Handheld dialog box appears and you are prompted to enter the correct USB drivers path. The USB drivers are found where you installed Palm Desktop (by default: C:\Programs\Files\Palm\USB_Drivers).
Getting started
To customize your synchronization preferences for the first time:
- Right-click the HotSync icon.
- Choose Date Book (CorporateSync), To Do List (CorporateSync) or Address (CorporateSync) according to what you want to customize.
- Consult the on-line help packaged with this product for more information.
Synchronizing Address Books with the calendar server
- Choose Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs.
- Click CorporateSync for Palm.
- Choose either Change (for Windows 2000) or Add/Remove (Windows 98).
- Choose Modify.
- Choose Next and turn on the Address Book conduit.
